Beats Learning was created by experienced musicians and workshops leaders Simon Gunton and Emily Morris in 2005. In 2007 Beats Learning joined forces with Escape Artists, a charity working in the field of arts-infused education since 1996, and we are now able to offer an even greater range of services, including OCN accredited courses up to Level Two.

Beats Learning is an exciting, fun and groundbreaking initiative, teaching key stage 1, 2, 3, and 4 subjects through musical activities and composition.

Beats Learning aim to show how music can be linked to all subjects as an alternative way of learning. Research shows that the development of musical skills benefits children in all areas of learning.

Beats Learning tailor their workshops to match each school so that no two workshops are the same. We use a variety of instruments, such as hand percussions, djembes, boomwhackers, drum kits, guitars, keyboards and even dustbins. If, however, you already play an instrument, you can bring that along too!

Beats Learning also train teachers to incorporate music into their lessons, and are available for INSET and training days.
